* Disc Golf has been non-existent for me. But my last round was best round for me with an Ace and personal best score.

* Got my 3rd career disc golf Ace last week. It was at the new Wabun course in s mpls really close to my house. Got it with a Discraft Drone and Erik saw it.

* Speaking of my house...we sold our house finally. We're out offically on June 25th. We're currently looking in Bloomington and maybe southwest Minneapolis.

* Henry is 16mos old now. He's funny. He walks and talks and plays and he's a very good boy.

* It took awhile but it feels like summer is finally here. We've done a couple of cabin trips so far. Fishing has been below average for me. Hope to have a good fishing weekend soon.

* Thanks for looking at my blog if you still do. I know its weak that I only post once every couple months now.

UPA Nationals

Sub Zero won Regionals again this year and got the 5th seed at Nationals. They have a really good young team. This time of the year I really miss playing with those guys. Nationals is super fun to play it. Todd actually just found this pic of me from 2003 Nationals. I hadn't seen this one until he sent it to me. I think its actually off his camera. Good times.

My 'summer is over' Post

* Sucks that summer is over already. This one went by way faster then last summer I think.

* Played a lot of rounds of DG this summer. It was fun and I feel like I'm still improving. Set personal best scores at 3 or 4 courses which is fun. I also took 2nd place AMs division in a tournament taking home $60.

* Got up to our cabin and a few other cabins a bunch. Lots of fishing this summer. Highlight was catching a 4lb 10oz Northern right as a storm rolled in. I snapped a couple pics and we raced home.

* Henry is getting bigger of course. He has 2 teeth now and he is lots of fun to play with since he can sit up and play with toys now.

* I sold some games and got Madden 08 for 360. 2 weeks later the game got scratched really bad and doesn't work anymore. What a waste. Halo 3 comes out in 3 weeks though so that makes up for it.

* If you haven't heard we're in the process of getting ready to sell our house and move. If you ask me I would say things are going smoothly at this point, but Mandy would disagree.

* Fall league Ultimate starts this Sunday. Should be fun to play some Ulti again.

* Thats all for now, figured I should post since it was over a month. Bye bye.

ShopKo

* Random thought. It really sucked working at ShopKo during college. I worked on the totally awesome East ShopKo in St. Cloud from Sept 2002 to July 2003. It seems like I was there longer then that though. Maybe Sept of 2001? I worked as an MST member. Maintenance and Service Team. Mainly just unloaded trucks, stocked shelves and helped with heavier items. The worst thing was working 2pm-10pm and then going back 7 hours later 5am-1pm shift. Those were bad days. The worst day came one year when I had to work the Friday after Thanksgiving. I worked that day 5am-1pm and it was for sure one of the worst work days in my life. Totally chaotic with what seemed like millions of people shopping that day. Thank God I am still not working there.

* Filled in for Erik's volleyball team tonight. Outside in the sand at Senser's. Pretty fun. We lost all 3 games although I think we lost 13-15 in all 3. I was rusty, broke a couple rules and had some bad hits. Other than that I played ok.

* Played Hyland disc golf league last nite. I placed in Ams division so that was decent. Didn't shoot that great but still pretty fun.

* I offically decided to not try-out/play with Sub Zero this year again. Just didn't seem like it was something I wanted to do or could do this year. I still don't feel like my career in elite level Ultimate is done, we'll see what happens next year.

* A few weeks ago a bunch of us went up to Highbridge, WI to play some disc golf and poker. A big guys weekend basically. This place has four 18 hole courses and we stayed in a decent little house. Best thing was we had the entire place to ourselves. 6 rounds of disc golf and 2 nites of poker cash games was a blast.

* Henry is already 3 1/2 months old. Pretty crazy. He's gotten a little bigger and we can see some personality in him now. He smiles and laughs a lot so thats a blast.

* There is no TV Shows that I like right now. What should I watch? I think I'll have to catch up on some of these better ones via DVD.

* Haven't seen many movies lately, that sucks.

* Last Saturday AJ and I braved the cold temps and went discin. I basically said it'd be worth going because I would hit and Ace. Sure enough I hit one on the 2nd round on hole #4. Another short hole but still really fun.

* It's been a long time coming but I finally did well in my NCAA brackets. I took 1st out of 8 in my work pool and 2nd out of 25 in Scott's pool. I had all 4 final four teams, both finals team and Florida winning. I'm smart and now I'm rich!

* I went disc golfing 3 times already. This weather right now is bullcrap but I haven't let it stop me from discin. 27 degrees and windy on Thursday but I got in 18 holes regardless. It's all those days of playing Ultimate at college sectionals in similar weather.

Recap Of Winter Indoor Sports

* Downward Spiral shoulda been our team name for b-ball this year. We started out 4-1 and finished the season 5-5. We actually finished 4th out of 10 in the league so that's a positive. This league has a goofy playoff schedule so we played one game for 3rd/4th place. We lost in overtime but it was a really fun game to play in. Scott was on fire for most of the game and myself and Jay put together solid 2nd half. We were down 8pts at halftime and Jay tied it by hitting both free throws with 40 seconds left. In the 2 min OT we didn't score and they went like 4-6 from the FT line to end our season with a loss.

* In February I played in my first full indoor Ulti tournament since Feb/March of 2004. I played with a group of SZ guys and it was an all day Saturday tournament at the Y in Minneapolis. We went 7-0 in the tournament to take home the championship. I played pretty good all day until finals. I was bad then and so was our team. We turned it over a lot and they had a 1 break lead for much of the game but in the end we pulled it out winning 11-9 or so. My highlight of the tournament was throwing 3 wrist flips for scores to Naz, Jeremy and Dean.

* Last weekend was my 2nd indoor Ultimate tournament on the year. This was the annual St. Cloud indoor and we had a Luckydog alumni team plus a few SZ guys. This year we finally took home the championship after losing in finals 4-5 times. We went 6-0 for the weekend. Played 3 games in the new dome and 3 in the fieldhouse with new floors. Wish they had that stuff when I was in school. Saturday's games were lame for the most part, but the first point of the weekend for me I caught a huck from Todd on the goaline and threw another wrist flip for a score to Erik. 4/4 on indoor wrist flips this year, toot toot. Sunday's games were more competitive. In quarters we played Luckydog and it was a repeat of last Octobers alumni game. We jumped out to a quick 3 goal lead and it seemed to really put Luckydog in a hole. I think we won like 11-7 or so. In semis we played a pretty good Gustavus college team. We got the first break and we traded points a lot. Then Bon Bons dropped a pull and they scored to get the break back. We traded points some more and we finally got a two goal lead at 11-9. Time cap went off when they scored to make it 11-10. At this point it was a straight game to 12. We had the old school Luckydog line in with me, Naz, Todd, Raeker, and DK. We received and Raeker turned it over trying to hit me in the endzone. We got it back and Raeker turned it over trying to hit me on the goaline (just like the old days). We got it back again, Raeker got back at least one of those turns. 3rd possession of the point Raeker hucked to Naz but it was looking too deep, I followed the play an yelled to Naz: "Naz, Greatest!" Naz jumped from inbounds on the back of the endzone, grabbed it and threw and upside down backhand to me standing all alone in the endzone to win it. Finals was against a St. Olaf team coached by current SZ captain Dave Truesdale. In this game Vu got us off to a quick start and we jumped up 2-0. We eventually got a 3 goal lead and we won 12-9.

* So 5-5 in bball and 13-0 in ulti. It was nice to be able to play both sports this winter after a 2 year absence. Looking forward to next winter when we try to defend both titles.

Ultimate or Disc Golf?

Not to be confused with an old post titled Ultimate and Disc Golf. After tearing the old ACL in 2005 I had planned on taking the 2006 Sub Zero season off. Rest my knees and rehabbing to try and get ready for the 2007 season. Last year I played more disc golf then I had the previous 5 years combined. This is my post about the age old question of which disc sport I'm going to play in 2007. Ok, it's not 'age old question' but lots of people have asked me what I'm going to do. The one thing for sure is its a really tough decision.

* Ultimate is still my true love. Playing in college with Luckydog and playing with Sub Zero was a blast every season. With Luckydog we always had a winning record and came up a short going to Nationals in my last 3 season. Playing with Sub Zero included 5 trips to Nationals and 1 to Worlds in 2002. Playing at Nationals is the biggest reason that I want to play with Sub Zero again. There is nothing like that 3-day weekend of the best Ultimate in the country. I definitely want to try to play again and see if I can compete at a high level and help my team. * Disc Golf last year was a ton of fun. Playing in those leagues and setting up tournaments with friends was a sweet. Obviously I had so much fun with it since this has become a hard decision to make. If I stick with DG I'll want to keep playing in those leagues and maybe do a couple tournaments as well. I want to see where I'm at this year compared with some of the elite players in this Twin Cites and maybe even out of state.
They both have their own pros and cons. Soon enough I'll make the decision and either way I'm sure it'll work out.

Oh Boy

*It's a boy! Our baby boy came Jan 30th 2007. His name is Henry Richard and he was 6lbs 13oz and 20 inches. Everything went amazingly well. Mandy was awesome. She was induced at 6am on Tuesday morning and Henry popped out at 4:44pm after about 2 and a half hours of pushing. We got home Thursday at noon and enjoying every minute of it.

B-Ball League

* I finally get to play in a basketball league after missing all of last year and the 2nd half of the year before. Can anyone guess why I missed all that time? We're playing in a league at the Eagan Comm Center on Wed nights. 4 games into the season and we're 4-0. Our defense has been sick. We do this full court zone and most of the teams have struggled to break it. We get lots of turnovers and easy baskets. We've been struggling against man defense lately but our D is so good we win regardless. The league posts points for and points against and through 3 weeks we were 3rd in points for and 1st in points against. We lead points against by a lot. No one can score on us. Last night we won 39-25 and the team only score 9pts on us in the 2nd half. The bad thing is we haven't played some of the top teams yet. Starting next week we'll play 2-3 in a row against teams who also started the season off undefeated. We'll see what happens in those games.

* Speaking of basketball, how about them T-Wolves? What the F! We fire another coach, we have guys getting suspended and we're on a 5 game losing streak. Awesome. Losing 5 games with this team shouldn't happen. I know we're not the Suns or the Mavs but still, we have KG and losing 5 games straight is whack.

Movies from 2006

* Mandy and I were talking because we've seen a lot of movies lately. I decided to look up all the movies released in 2006 that I watched with her and/or friends and a few solo. I rated them using the 5 star rating system and gave a couple comments. Here is my list:

Hostel (DVD) **** OK. I might get flamed for that rating, but it is highly entertaining w/the excessive gore. I even bought it on DVD and actually watched it 4 or 5 times this year.
Glory Road (DVD) ** We bought it up at the video store by the cabin for cheap. It's a solid b-ball movie but not nearly as good as Hoosiers or Coach Carter (yes, that is a good movie).
Underworld: Evolution (DVD) *** I was a huge fan of the first one, this one I missed in the theatres but bought it when it came out. Cool sequel and Kate Beckinsale is hot.
Eight Below (On Demand) ** Yes its a Disney movie but it was entertaining.
16 Blocks (On Demand) *** Was better then I expected and I like Mos Def in this film.
Dave Chappelle's Block Party (Theatre) *** Chappelle was funny as usual and the music in the movie is really good, but thought they could made it a little longer with some more of Chappelle's humor.
V For Vendetta (Theatre) ***** One of my favs of the year. All around good movie and I still need to add it to the DVD collection.
Inside Man (On Demand) *** Surprised to see that Spike Lee directed this when we started watching. It wasn't as good as the preview made it seem though.
Lucky Number Slevin (DVD) **** Some good action and a nice plot twist to make it a solid movie.
Mission: Impossible III (Theatre) *** The action and stunts were good enough to make this movie worth seeing.
The Da Vinici Code (Theatre, DVD) *** I didn't read this book and I was even told before hand by a few people that I wouldn't understand the movie without reading the book. I didn't find that to be true but it was nice that Mandy had read to tell me some of the stuff they changed/left out. It was an OK movie but maybe hyped too much.
X-Men: The Last Stand (Theatre) **** I'm a huge X-Men fan and was pumped when this finally came out. Overall it was pretty good but I think I like the 2nd one best in the trilogy and like V For Vendetta still haven't bought this on DVD.
The Break Up (DVD) ** Some funny parts. Funny because Ralphie from A Christmas Story is in this movie.
Nacho Libre (DVD) * Worst movie of 2006 (that I saw). Both Mandy and I wanted to turn it off but neither of us had the guts to say anything until after we finished it.
Superman Returns (On Demand) ** I felt kinda lost in this. I guess it might have helped to watch the old Superman movies first??? There was some cool parts but nothing that blew me away.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (Theatre) * POTC 2 was then 2nd worst movie that I saw of 2006. Too bad cause the first one was pretty cool. Funny thing is I probably will still see the 3rd one just to see what happens.
You, Me & Dupree (Theatre) ** I think we saw this at the cheap seats. One of those romantic comedies that had some funny parts.
Clerks II (On Demand) ** Didn't need to make a sequel to Clerks. I think anyone who enjoys Kevin Smith movies was asking why make a sequel? Well, he did it anyway and it wasn't very good but had some funny parts (how many times I have I said that already?)
Monster House (DVD) ** Yep, we had to watch at least one of the computer animated movies of 2006. Like most of them it was cute and its always cool to see how they do the animation in this movies.
Little Miss Sunshine (DVD) ***** Mandy and I were trying to see this movie all year. Couldn't find time at the regular theatres or for the month+ that is was at the Riverview (cheap seats a couple blocks from out house). Anyway, finally saw it and loved it. Now I think it'll be out on loan for a few months.
The Night Listener (Theatre) **** Saw this at the end of the summer after going to like 4 straight blockbusters it was a nice change of pace. It was an indy film with Robin Williams and was "based on a true story". Pretty good psychological thriller.
The Protector (Theatre) **** If you like Ong Bak: Thai Warrior then check this out. Tony Jaa does another awesome movie and more kick ass stunts.
Fearless (DVD) *** A Jet Li Chinese martial art movie much like Hero, House of Flying Daggers etc...It was pretty good but not much different then the other Chinese martial arts movies from the past few years.
The Departed (Theatre) ***** Probably my favorite movie of the year. Can't go wrong with a Scorsese gangster flick and this movie has an awesome cast.
The Prestige (Theatre) **** It seems like Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale are in a lot of movies including this one. I liked it and really liked how it ended.
Apocalypto (Theatre) ***** Some people hate Mel Gibson right now. I don't care either way as long as he makes good movies and Apocalypto was one of them. I really liked this movie and if you have a fascination with Mayan culture check this out.
Rocky Balboa (Theatre) **** Stallone made up for a horrible Rocky 5 with a surprisingly decent Rocky 6.
The Good Shepherd (Theatre) **** DeNiro's directorial debut. Good cast in this one and enjoyed it for the most part. I felt like it could have used a little more action or suspense though.
Children Of Men (Theatre) *** This technically came out in 2006 but not until 2007 around here. Weird movie and in a good way. The plot really makes you think what it would be like it something like that really happened.

Real Life High Fidelity

* This is a lame story of my lame night last Tuesday. It might not be a good story but it is something that amused me. If you haven't seen the movie High Fidelity then this might not make sense to you. Also, I suggest checking it out. You can borrow the DVD from us if you want.

* So, last Tuesday I had about 2 hours to kill between work and a meeting I had to attend in Eagan. I hung around work for awhile, got some gas, ran to Target and still only killed off an hour. So I decided to check out a store near the Eagan Target. I think the store is called Mind's Eye Comics (couldn't find a website). So I decided to check it out. The store is kinda dumpy and lacks some organization but it was cool to see lots of old toys and video games I used to have when I was a kid. There was 3 guys working. Actually they weren't really doing much work, just sitting around. One guy (I think the owner) was surfing the net, the other was reading a comic book and the third was playing with a couple GI Joes, seriously. I walked around a bit and I decided to ask the owner if a Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin action figure I have still new in the box was worth anything. He replied with a very annoyed/snoty tone to his voice with "yeah, for about 2 days after his death was all over the news." I was annoyed. I'm the only customer in the store, the guy isn't busy and they're not doing anything. I walked around a bit more and started to think about how these 3 guys in this type of store remind me of Rob, Dicky and Barry in the record store called Top 5 Records in the movie High Fidelity. I'll explain more later. So, I decided to bug these guys a little bit more. I noticed they didn't have any of my favorite action figures from my youth. They were called M.A.SK. and they were the bomb back in the day. The vehicles could change into something else (car into jet for example) and there was a cartoon too. Good times. I asked the guy reading a comic: "Do you have any M.A.S.K. toys?" and he says: "You'll have to ask Gary." Well, Gary is standing right next to him and just looks at me. So I slightly turn my head to the right and ask it again: "Do you have any M.A.S.K. toys?" Gary says: "nope" and the owner said some more smart ass stuff about GI Joes vs M.A.S.K toys and that kind of junk which I mostly ignored. I walked around another minute or so and as I left said in a sarcastic voice "sorry to bug you guys." YES! I totally got them back. Really though, I don't know why I was annoyed, I really didn't care about good customer service at a store like that and I had no intention to buy anything.

Anyway, so once that little experience ended it definitely had the feel of the 3 guys working in Top 5 Records in the movie High fidelity. They often act as if the customers aren't important to them. They mess around a make fun of customers who don't seem to have the vast knowledge of music that they think they have. It's very funny and like I said, if you haven't seen it check it out.

Timberwolves

T-Wolves are 6-8 one month into the 06-07 season. The paper said that this is our worst record in a month since 1995. Kinda hard to believe since we sucked a lot last year. At 6-8 we are in a hole with the Western Conference being so tough but it is a hole we can get out of, even by the end of this week. Even though they weren't on TV for 4 of those 14 games I managed to see 11 of games on TV or at the Target Center. Here is my take on the first month.

* The Negatives: Ricky Davis and Mike James. I didn't notice it last year much with Ricky Davis but this year he can't score on the opposing teams best perimeter defender. Ron Artest, Josh Howard, Shane Battier, even Eric Snow all shutdown RD to the point where he was even hurting the team being on the floor. He seems to need a guy like Paul Pierce to take that defensive pressure off him then he can score 20pts a game a lot easier. RD doesn't play too much defense so we need him to score. Mike James just needs to find a groove. I don't think he'll put up numbers like last year but somewhere inbetween last years numbers and his numbers this year would help the team a ton. I think it'll help Ricky's game as well and we'll win more games no doubt.

* The Positives: The rookies Randy Foye and Craig Smith. Craig Smith came out in the 2nd game of the year and dropped 20pts on the Nuggets in 16mins off the bench. He hasn't had a monster scoring game like that since but everytime he's on the floor the team seems to play better. Also, he has had some sick power dunks as well as a half dozen monster bricks on dunk attempts, but hey those are even fun to watch. He's a great rebounder for his size having 10 or more rebounds in three games and he shoots a high percentage. Randy Foye isn't getting quite as many minutes as Smith with are log jam of perimeter players but he has had a half dozen good games while averaging only 14mins per game. His last three games were by far his best as he lead 4th quarter comebacks in all three. We still lost 2 of those 3 but it was nice to see him getting extended minutes in the 4th quarter and show his stuff. He had his new career high with 17pts against Dallas and a game with 6 assists in 15mins against the Hornets. These two 4-year college players have bright futures in the NBA.

Hopefully the two rookies both see more minutes the rest of the season and Ricky and Mike get their games rolling soon. It could get exciting if Rashad McCants can come back healthy and start nailing threes and dunking on people like he showed glimpses of last year. Oh yeah, and that KG guy he's still playing pretty money and there is no reason we shouldn't be able to improve our winning percentage from .428 to something above .500 by seasons end. GO WOLVES!

Painting

* My dad and I are in the process of painting the baby's room. I hate painting. The trim was dark green and we're painting it white, its a pain. I feel like we're not even close to being done. Oh well.

* The Fall league Ultimate season is over. I played in about half the games for the season. It was fun for the most part. We had an entertaining game a couple weeks ago. We started off down 5-0. Then Nate and I started hooking up on scores and we came back to be down 8-5 at halftime. In the 2nd half we finally tied it at 11-11. At one point I D'd a huck and got hit in the mouth while doing so, yet someone called a foul on me. I was pissed. My mouth was bleeding and I didn't really make contact with anyone. I guess my face fouled the guys hand. Weak. It was tied 14-14, then we had a bunch of drops. We lost 16-14.

* Did a bunch of discin last Saturday. We played Plymouth Creek and Acorn for a total of 60 holes in one day. I had my two best rounds at Acorn and nailed a guy in the face on hole #6. Its a blind shot to the basket and the slow playing group in front of us yelled: "Clear on #6", but they also yelled: "It doesn't matter though, you can't throw this far!" So I threw. Then we heard: "Look out, look out!" Once we got down to the basket we saw a guy holding his face. Turns out my yellow Avenger hit him right in the face. He had cuts on his nose and above his eye and his eye was starting to swell shut. Oops. The guy felt pretty salty about it. Plus he was probably a little shocked that we could throw that far and that it actually hit him in the face. Bad Karma for him.

* I also played poker last Saturday in AJ's league. First time since April. I sucked as usual. I won a couple hands and I was up a couple hours in to it. Then got too aggressive with Ace, 8 and made an overly aggressive/semi-bluff all-in call. I lost. Sucks to that.

* Luckydog Alumni defeated Luckydog 21-17 last Saturday at the 5th annual SCSU Ultimate Alumni game. That gives the Alumni 3 wins in a row and puts the series at 3-2. Both sides had tons of turnovers including yours truly but our deep game was clicking a little better then Luckydog's did. We came out up 4-1 and Luckydog came within 2 goals a few times but the Alumni would usually come back with a few goals of their own. I was drained in the 2nd half in such a long game, oh yeah and we only had 1 sub on the alumni side.

* Friday night was High Ho Sliver night at DB's bar in St. Cloud. $7 cover then all drinks are a nickel. It was a crazy good time. "Gimme 6 vodka sours"..."That'll be 30 cents".

* Also on Saturday we got in a couple rounds of disc golf at Riverside DGC in Cloud. Course was setup at Champion length so it was tougher then normal but it was still fun. The 2nd round was Raeker and I vs. Erik and DK best disc round. We were up -2 to -1 through 9 holes. Erik and DK tied it, then had a chance to take the lead but they biffed a couple putts and Raeker and I took in on the last 2 holes.

* Yesterday I bought Dead Rising for Xbox 360, its sweet. You go around and kill zombies and stuff. I also Ace'd #9 Short tee at Bryant Lake yesterday. DK and I were doing an Ace Race and I hit one. It was tight.

* Last night DK, AJ and I went disc golfing at Bryant Lake. We played the short tees in hopes of hitting an Ace. We made a bunch nice runs at it but no one hit an Ace. AJ did ding some metal though on #7. Cool thing is DK got that shot on video. He missed the Ace by about an inch, just a tad too low. I made a nice run at it on the video, just a little short and a little right.

* Props to SZ for winning Regionals last weekend. They should get a decent seed for Nationals.

* T-Wolves first preseason game tonight. Wished it was on TV.

* Wild are off to a fast start, 3-0. Cool win last night in a shootout.

* Mandy and I are about to get into full on prepare for baby mode. We got some work to do in the house. Then buy stuff: crib, stroller, car seat etc...

Ultimate and Disc Golf

* This weekend is Regionals for Sub Zero. Back in Chicago this year and SZ has the #1 seed. Central Region gets 3 bids to Nationals so SZ should be a lock to go to Nationals. They've had an interesting year. They lost Timmy and Turtle mid-season do to non-Ultimate related issues. Shane and now possibly Q-Tip are missing most of the season for school events. It also sounded like 3-4 guys have had some nagging injuries. Lucky for SZ that they've had some rookies step up to fill some of those holes and the team has had a solid season at this point.

* I have played Ultimate back to back Sundays now in a TCUL fall league. Last week was my first real game of Ultimate in about 11 months. I picked up with a team that Nate is on and its been fun. We won both games 15-5 and I got some good run in. Nate and I hooked up on about 5 scores now, some on hucks. Luckydog to Luckydog connection rockin it.

* I've done about 15% of my Disc Golfing this year at the Hyland SSA course in Bloomington. Sadly we found out that the course is closed for the winter starting this Friday. Its a sucky feeling to think we can't disc there for the next 6 months. DK brought his camera last night and snapped some photos. He posted one on his new blog. Check it out on his Blog.

* I'm planning on play in the Minneapolis Open disc golf tournament in a few weeks, though I haven't signed up yet. This is a PDGA run tournament so it'd be my first tournament that is PDGA sanctioned. That doesn't really mean much to me expect that its probably more organized then the leagues I've done this past summer. It should be a fun experience.

Summer Goes Too Fast

* I can't believe its already August 21st. A summer without playing Ultimate seemed to go faster then it does when I'm playing. Sub Zero won the Cooler tournament in Milwaukee and they had a so-so showing at Colorado Cup earlier this month. I hope to watch them for the first time this year at sectionals in September.

* Disc golf has been going good lately. I finished 2nd in AMs at the last week of league at Plymouth Creek shooting -4. Then the next week was the first week of league at Sunnyside (which is only 18 holes cause of daylight). I won $22 for first place and most birdies in AMs that week, I shot -4. Last week I also had my best Hyland score shooting a 57. Getting closer to par.

* DK and Beth's wedding weekend was hella fun. We had a washers tournament on Friday and then disc'd before the wedding on Saturday morning. I started to get the flu that night but I was able to pound some vodka redbulls and screwdrivers to mask my flu for a few hours. Nate and I did karoke at the bar next door. We did Tool, it sounded like shit but it was fun. I was pretty sick on Sunday and didn't make the gift opening so that sucked.

* Mandy and I had a nice anniversary weekend at the cabin earlier this month. We got out on the lake a bunch and ate a nice dinner as well. I caught a nice 4lb northern, my biggest fish of the year (I'll post the picture later). We also just got back from a fun weekend in Ely. Jordan and I fished a bunch and played some disc golf at the Ely course. Sunday was a day of eating, sleeping and relaxing.

* We still haven't done much with baby things. Is there something I should be doing right now? I guess I'm just learning as we go and I know Mandy will let me know. We've already got a ton of gifts for the baby. Mandy is pretty convinced its a girl. I'm not sure what to think.

* The Contour is gone. Yes, after 4.5 years I traded in my 1998 Contour SVT last weekend for a 1999 Dodge Durango SLT. The Durango is really nice and it should be a good truck to haul baby stuff around in. Mandy can drive it since its an automatic and I'm sure that'll help come next Feburary as well.

More Disc Golf

* Last weekend was DK's bachelor party. It was a crazy good time. I started off Discin with Erik, Kris and AJ at Kaposia. Didn't play so well but it was fun to go. Course has changed since the last time I went about 4 years ago. Then we had the First and Last Annual DK Bachelor Party Disc Golf Tournament at North Valley. I helped organize it and it went off without a hitch. DK took 1st place in it and 4 out the 5 guys who won money were SZ duders. After that a much smaller group of 6 went to the Eagan DG course. We played team skins and Rob and I won that. I also shot the best here out of the 6 of us, but I also have ton more experience on the course. Later that night we did the usual bachelor party thing downtown and stayed out until about 4am. The following day we did a hungover round of Disc at Kaposia and I improved by 4 shots from the day before. So much disc golf it was a lot of fun. AJ and I finished the weekend playing 72 holes of disc golf.

* Not much new going on with the baby. Mandy did create this baby blog for us to post some news on. 1 post so far and sure to be more.

Big News From My World

* Mandy is knocked up and apparently its mine. Our baby is due on Feb 9th. We are very excited. Not much else to say at the moment, but now I feel old.

* I'm continuing to play a ton fo disc golf this summer. I even started playing in a Thursday night league at Plymouth Creek. My first week I didn't do so well, shot +8 and didn't place in the amateur division. I think i was kinda nervous. My 2nd week I was on fire and I dominated the Ams division shooting -7. I won money for 1st place, plus won money for the least bogeys and most birdies. After that they made me move up to the middle division which is Advanced. I finished -2 in my first Advanced division and was a few shots away from placing. I did win league wide CTP contest though, I won flashlight for that, it was cool. I have also recently had my best rounds to date at Hyland, Acorn, Bryant Lake and Bassett Creek. Its a lot of fun to improve from my scores earlier this year.

* The Dikeman wedding was a lot of fun last weekend. I was a groomsmen and we had a great wedding party crew. I saw a lot people I hadn't seen in awhile so that was fun. Andy and Sarah are a great couple and it was good to see them get married.

* We start the mini 3 week Goaltimate season this week, so that is another thing to keep me busy. Also, softball starts up again. I've been playing decent but I think I could still do better. We have about 3-4 weeks left. Our record is like 3-9, not very good. I think that puts us at 5th place outta 6.

* Got to go the cabin a few times last month. Both times were a blast. Fishing has been solid and still do the same old jetsking, tubing swimming etc. I'm usually more tired after a weekend at the cabin with all the activities but its worth it.

* I'd like to see The Omen today. Looks scary and amusing that it comes out on 6/6/06. I'm sure I'll just end up renting it though.

* Summer hasn't actually started yet and I'm super busy. But the good thing is its all for fun stuff. Recently took weekend trips camping and to Ely. Much fun.

* Our softball team is 2-4. Not bad. Last nite we won game #1 by 1 run and lost game #2 by 1 run. Pretty exciting. I scored the game winning run on the bottom of the 7th coming in from 2nd base.

* I have been Disc Golfing a ton. I have already played 5 courses I had never been to before and I'm going to more "new" ones this week. So far its been a solid replacement for not playing Ulti this year.

* Speaking of Ulti I have been so busy I haven't had much time to think about how much it sucks not playing. 2 rounds of cuts are done with Sub Zero. Good to see 4 St. Cloud boys making a strong push to make the team. Of course Todd and Naz are in and DK and Quinn have a strong chance.

* The new Tool CD is awesome. Been out for a few weeks now. Go get it. Its called "10,000 Days".

* Last weekend Dikeman's bachelor party was good stuff. We went to Twins game, played poker and went to bars. It was fun to see some duders that I haven't seen in awhile. Todd and I rolled back to my house at about 5am. We're getting too old to be out that late.

* I am re-addicted to Oblivion for Xbox 360. Can't say enough about how cool this game is.

* Last Friday I had my 3rd knee surgery in just over a year. This time is was very minor left knee arthoscopy to clean up a torn meniscus. Slightly swollen today but I should be fine in another couple a days, then return my focus to my right knee ACL rehab.

* Results from College Regionals: I didn't attend but this is what I know. Madison beat Carleton for the one and only spot to Nationals 15-12. I have Sub Zero teammates on both teams so it was hard for me to cheer for either team but I am pumped for Madison. I think that they have a great shot at winning the National Championship. Luckydog broke seed again this year. They made it all the way to semi-finals and lost to Madison. They finished 3rd in a tie with the U of M. Luckydog has a cool streak which goes back to my playing days. Every year the team makes it to Regionals they advance all the way to semi-finals. It's been done in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2005 and 2006. It not going to Nationals but its a pretty good accomplishment. I'd say it puts us as the 4th best team in the region for this decade behind Carleton, Madison and Iowa.

* Results from the regional Foosball tournament: DK and I did decided to enter in the beginners doubles division. It wasn't quite as organized as I hoped it would be. It was kind of a long wait before we got to play our first real game. The format was a double elimination bracket. We lost our first match 3 games to 2. We won the first game and lost the next two. The third game of the match was close. It was tied 4-4 and we had a chance to score but failed to put it in and they scored to win the match. The second match we won 3-2. I believe we won the first and the third game by scores of 5-3ish. I think the game they won was 5-4. There were a lot of long balls where no one would score for awhile in that match. It was another long wait for our third match and we might have been better off leaving. We got smoked. We lost 2-0. Neither game was close, I believe the scores were 5-2 in both. It was a cool experience and I think DK and I both agree that we underachieved a bit, but I guess that's to be excepted for a first tournament. It was hard to know what to expect out of this, but I think it made us both better by learning things.

* Later on Saturday after feeling slightly down about our foosball loses, Todd joined us and we got drunk and dominated the foos table at Brothers. We played about 10 games that night and didn't lose once. I guess we played worse competition but we were also on fire, only one game was close and we dominated the rest. Good times.

* I watched Hostel. Mandy wouldn't watch it but she should have. Its not scary or suspenseful like I thought it would be. But it is the most gory movie I have ever seen so that's cool. I also saw a movie at the theatre by my house which was playing foreign films for the foreign film festival last week. I saw a Japanese Samurai movie called Hidden Blade. I love Samurai movies so I was pumped there was one playing. Most of the ones I have seen were made in the 1950s but this one was made in 2004. It was really cool to see the filmmakers stick to the old school roots for samurai movies. It wasn't the best one I've seen but it was good. I'll get it on DVD to add to my collection for sure.

* Went disc golfing with Todd, AJ and Erik today. We played at Plymouth Creek. It was my first time there. I Ace'd #4. It was awesome. My first Ace ever. We played 2 rounds. I finished +4 both times. If I could have took my best score from each hole and made it into one round I would been at E or even under. Example on hole #4 I took the 1 and then next time I took a 3.

* We also had a little softball practice. I took BP and threw a bit. Couldn't really run down any fly balls though. I'll probably be able to bat in the games and maybe play a little catcher for the first month or so.

* Not that it really means much but I took 1st place in fantasy hockey and 3rd place in fantasy basketball. It is more fun when you do well for sure.

* Newest Xbox 360 game = Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. A first person RPG that is really cool. The game is just huge in terms of where you can take your character and other things that makes it really dynamic. I showed it to Jordan and he thought it was so cool he bought it for PC. I highly recommend this game if you like RPGs.

* I wish Mad Dog could have made one of those 3s he was jacking up last night. The crowd woulda gone crazy. Hopefully the Wolves are NEVER AGAIN in a situation were it is "ok" for Mark Madsen to be shooting 3s.

* The Ultimate season is very close to starting. I'm beginning to wonder how depressed it'll make me feel when I realize all my teammates are competing once again. 2006 could be the best Sub Zero season yet and I hate thinking about missing it.

* The one positive about missing this season will be having a lot more time to go to the cabin. In a couple weeks we go and get the cabin "summer ready" and I'll consider that the official start of summer.

* Daylight saving time kinda sucks. I was at the bar and then all of a sudden it was 3am. At least there is more time to do outside stuff now.

* I sucked in all 4 of my NCAA brackets. 16 chances to have final four teams. I had 1 TOTAL! F that. Also, the championship game is not entertaining. That's why I am writing this right now.

* I suck at poker. I play about once every 4 months and I never do well. Played with the Jack High league dudes. I got knocked out pretty early, before the 3 tables got consolidate to 2 tables. That is not good.

* I suck at Rehabing my knee. I admit that I haven't kept up with it as much as I did last time around. But it's harder this time, I don't feel like I have much to come back for right now. I'm going to be doing some more at the Institute for Athletic Medicine so that should help me keep at it.

* Even though I suck at a lot of things I'm in a good mood so that's cool.

* Twins start tomorrow. Pretty pumped. Hope the new guys step it up.

* The basketball team that I organized for this winter is doing ok. League is in Eagan. They are 5-3 with two more regular season games left. I believe we are still in the running for the championship. I've only watched 3 games but the team looks pretty good. I hope I can get healthy and play with these guys next year.

* Fantasy Basketball I'm in 2nd place. Fantasy Hockey I'm in 3rd place. Things are looking good for me to make the playoffs in both as the seasons coming to an end. Booyah.

Addicted

* Yes, I admit that I'm addicted to Xbox 360 and Xbox Live. At least its not crack. Its just way too fun playing with people that you actually know. Play a lot of Halo 2 with Joe, DK, Mark Severt.

* In my previous post I mentioned that DK and I dominated in foosball a couple weeks ago. We usually do well at bars everynow and then. This made DK search on the internet and he found a foosball tournament coming up in April. We're thinking of entering and see how we do. We would enter as beginners and if we did good we could eventually move up the ladder of foosball. This could become a replacement for competing in Ultimate.

* Work is slow today. Kinda sucks. I guess there is still a chance it gets crazy busy. We're watching old South Park episodes on youtube.com right now.

1 Month Down

* One month post-op. It went by pretty fast. Just trying to stay positive. Still a long time away from play competitive sports again. Jack (current Luckydog, former college teammate) may have re-tore his ACL too. Hoping for Jack and Luckydog that his knee is healthy.

* I spent the last two weekends in St. Cloud. It was a lot of fun. Nice to go up there and hang with those dudes. Don't get to do that much obviously. DK and I had an epic night of foosball one night at Shooters. We ran the only table at the bar from about 11:30 until 2am. We started the night going like 2-2 and ended the night winning about 18 in a row. Lots of different peps fell to us. One guy wanted to beat us so bad by the end of the night but it just didn't happen.

* Not that I went out on a limb, but I picked LeBron James to win All-Star MVP. 3 mins left in the game, looks like it might happen.

* Mandy gets the day off tomorrow. Wish I had it off. We both feel sick. Would be nice to lay around for one more day.

* Ong-Bak The Thai Warrior is a cool movie. Muay Thai is a sweet martial art style. How bad would it hurt to get elbowed on the top of the head!?!?!?

I'm Alive

* My surgery was last Tuesday and things went well. I survived. I also got to keep the screws from my first surgery since they had to come out. Doc says, I re-tore it right in the middle of my ACL which takes the longest to heal. It heals from the outside to the middle. So it just kinda snapped apart when I kicked out my leg at Nationals.

* Doc also suggested to take extra time off this year from competitive Ultimate. He suggested 8-9 months post-op, so that pretty much covers the whole season. I have taken his advice and decided to miss the entire 2006 Sub Zero season. Hopefully 2007 will be a triumphant return to SZ for me.

* The week after surgery has been very uneventful. I got Xbox Live and played Halo 2 a lot. Also, watched movies and TV while I was laid up. I had a some visitors over the week and our cats kept me form going insane.

* Rehab starts tomorrow. I'm going back to the same person as last time. First day might be tough but it should get a lot better after that.

* This weekend is the work holiday party downtown. We get free dinner, limo, drinks, hotel and some kinda show. Last year it was hecka fun. Should be just as fun this year.

Another Post About My Knees

* Got the results back from my left knee MRI. As I suspected, I have a tear in my left knee meniscus. I'm pretty sure I damaged that on a various plays (that I can remember) in the 2003 season. I have been able to deal with for the last two years, but its been causing a lot of pain especially since I have had to rely on it more while rehab my right knee. Anyway, it looks like I'll have that operated on sometime in April or May. Need to get this right knee fixed and somewhat strong before I get my left knee fixed up. Overall this sucks big time.

* With my 2nd ACL tear some people have asked me if I'm going to "retire" from playing Ultimate. I have no intentions of retiring from high level club Ultimate. But, now I am seriously considering taking the whole 2006 season off and trying out in 2007. My other choice is to try and come back sometime in late-Aug or early-Sept. I'm sure sometime soon I will write a post going more into detail about this decision.

* I'm a huge T-Wolves fan and I try to stay positive even when things are bad. Remember the days before KG? We sucked then like we suck right now. Something needs to change. Is our team rebuilding or trying to make the playoffs? Right now we're in NBA Purgatory. We're not in good position for a draft pick or to make the playoffs at this point. We need a trade or we need some players to step it up. Something definitely needs to change. There is 50 games left and its hard to say how we'll end up.

Parking tickets from St. Cloud?

* Two posts in two days. I'm crazy.

* You peps from SCSU might enjoy this and can maybe relate. So, over the last 6 months I have got about 3 letters saying I owe $80 for "fees". The penalty for not paying these stated that if I don't pay my fines I will not receive my diploma. Well as most of you know I graduated in summer 2003 and yes did receive my diploma. I obviously ignored these letters and laughed at them. Then I got one recently that said I only owed $20 but if I don't pay the MN Collections Division will come "hunt me down". (Seriously for $20!?!?!?). So I e-mail SCSU billing to find out what this is all about. They tell me that the original $80 in fines were from four parking tickets. Check out the dates for them: 12/04/01; 02/04/02; 02/05/02; 02/20/03. Yeah, that's right late 2001 through early 2003. Close to 2 years before I graduated on the first one. So, they knocked off the first three since I was ignoring the original letters and want me to pay $20. $20 isn't a big deal but I decide to ask why I should pay those since they are so old and I already have my diploma. Here is the response: In answer to your question, parking charges were not entered in the Accounts Receivable at the time of your graduation. It is for this reason you were able to receive your diploma. I would recommend that you pay the $20.00 especially since three charges were removed - in other words, you are still getting a deal. WOW!!! Thanks for such a great "deal" SCSU. Should I pay $20 because it took you almost two years to enter parking charges in to the system? I don't think so, you snooze you lose. I know it is only $20 and I'm sure I'll pay it, but its kinda weak. I asked them to prove to me that those were tickets on my car(s) that I had during those times. Now I'm making them look up the old tickets and check with the DMV to see what vehicles those tickets were given to. Overall though, this is a bunch of crap.

* First league basketball game tonight. Good luck to the boys playing. I will not be in attendance since I am going to my 6th T-Wolves game tonight. Word.

Talker Tuesday

* Its "Talker Tuesday" on KFAN so I'll make it that on my blog for today.

* My 3 1/2 day weekend was pretty good. Watched a bunch of movies. Mandy's birthday went well and was fun even though I was kinda sick. I also spent a lot of my gift cards on clothes and shoes.

* Another thing I did over the weekend was beat Half-Life 2 on Xbox. I beat it on normal in all it took about 13 hours. I may try to be it on hard but I think I'll die a lot more and it could take close to 20 hours. I play mostly FPS games so I compare them often. Half-Life 2 is the best FPS game that I've played since Halo and Halo 2. Lots of cool weapons and maps. Some good gore too. Can't go wrong buying this one. Another good Xbox game I have played recently is Starwars Battlefronts. Its fun cause there is non stop action. I'm hoping to try the sequel soon. Also, still no Xbox 360s at Best Buy. Would be nice to get one before my surgery. I just want to be able to go to Best Buy and pick-one up instead of having to hope they got some in recently.

* 2 weeks from today is my ACL reconstruction surgery on my right knee. Actually, its 10:45am right now so exactly two weeks from now I should be out of surgery and in recovery one.

* Today I have an MRI on my left knee. Basically I'm looking to start 2006 by getting my knees fixed up and hopefully back to normal.

* Last week since work was slow I played some games on Miniclips. I challenged both AJ and DK to play the disc golf one. DK had the best score of 52 but I finally beat that last Friday by shooting a 51. Try and beat it if you're bored. http://www.miniclip.com/discgolf.htm

* Mike Tice is gone. I didn't like or dislike Tice. It just seems weird that he was let go with a winning record this year. But, I guess that's what we do to our coaches in Minnesota. Gardy's lucky he didn't get fired for going 83-79. Maybe Jaques Lemaire is next? Most likely since the Wild are above .500 right now.

* Speaking of coaches. I feel the same way about Dwyane Casey as I did about Tice. Sometimes I feel like he makes some mistakes but does well to fix them. It just might cost the Wolves a few wins which sucks. At 14-14 right now they'll be lucky to end this week above .500. Playing Dallas twice and San Antonio. Someone besides Wally and KG need to step up. Otherwise those two should go for 30+ each every game.

* Well, that's about it for my Talker Tuesday. At least I killed about 30 minutes at work, nice.

Good X-Mas

* I've never really had a bad Christmas, but this one was probably one of the best. I got lots of gifts. Everyone is really generous. Highlight gifts include: DVDs, Xbox game, cash, gift cards to Best Buy, Pacific Sunwear and Scene It Music trivia game. Also, a cool Timberwolves mini-hoop like the old nerf ones.

* So, I can pretty much afford to get an Xbox 360 with my GCs and cash. Just need to find one and it has to be at Best Buy.

* T-Wolves are sucking now. KG and Wally have been dominating but they are get much help from anyone else. Just a couple weeks ago they were 12-6. Now they're 13-12 and lucky to still be in first place in the division.

* Good offseason for Twins so far. Just need to make 1 or 2 more moves and we could be back to the playoffs.

My Top 5 plays

* Since I'm kinda bumming about my knee I thought I'd think back to my top 5 plays with Sub Zero. Maybe later on I'll try to think of top 5 from college, but that'll be a little bit more difficult. Also, its hard for me to rank them. Maybe any of the two people who read this could help rank them. Here is them in chronological order.

1. Nationals 2001. Sub Zero vs. E-Pig (DC). Placement games after we lost quarters. We trying to finish 5th so we can qualify for Worlds. I finally get some playing time in those last two games. Its really windy and Paco tries to huck up wind to Timmy. It goes about 40 yards and the wind just pushes the disc way up in the air. I was about 20 yards away and get a good running start at it. By the time I get to my spot to jump there is about 4-5 other guys in the area. I jump and grab the thing at the peak of my jump. I come down in this crowd of players and just call timeout. My whole team just mobs me. It was awesome. After the timeout Boardman is isolated in the endzone but I can't get it to him. I dump to Paco who immediately throws the score to Boardman.

2. Regional Finals, 2002. Sub Zero vs. Madison. We're playing hard handler defense. I'm slightly poaching off my guy who is handling. I get in the lane for the swing pass. I layout and catch it about 10 yards out from there defending endzone. The momentum of my layout makes me smack my face on the ground. I stand and there is no one up field so I look back and dump it to Todd and take off for the endzone. He swings it over to the sideline we DK is standing and unguarded. I see it going to DK and break for the front cone on that sideline. DK throws it a little high and fast. I see its going to get by me at head level so I layout. I grab the trailing edge and slam onto the ground, in bounds, in the endzone for the goal. My teammates mob me when I'm on the ground, I was pumped.

3. 2003 Nationals. Sub Zero vs. Johnny Bravo. After we lost to DOG on day 1 at Nationals we played Johnny Bravo. I sat out for the last 5-6 points in the DOG game recovering from a laser forehand from DK that left my mouth swollen, cut up and bloody. I iced my mouth and got ready for the 2nd game. We started on defense first point of the game and Boardman threw a nice long pull that pinned them in there endzone. They struggled to get out, throwing many swing passes. When they finally tried to throw something up field it was to my guy. He had been trying to make deep cuts looking for the big shot out of the endzone. I stayed close the whole time and it paid off. He tried to beat me under and they threw it to him. As the disc was in the air he seemed to slow down his cut a bit and I sped up. I ran right past him and grab the disc one handed in perfect stride. I knew for sure I was in the endzone for the Callahan. So I spiked the disc but hucking it out to midfield and got high fives from my teammates. You can see this play on "Stacked" UPA Nationals 2003 DVD on both disc 1 and disc 2. Its nice.

4. 2004 Boston Invite. Sub Zero vs. Rage. Some rookie throws an up wind huck. The wind pushes the disc up, similar to Paco's toss in 2001. The disc just hovers over the back endzone corner. One guy from Rage is standing under and and two others are right with me as we sprint to get to a good spot to jump. I think that three of us jump at nearly the same time. I remember seeing other hands near mine as we jumped up for it. I snagged it before they could and we all came crashing down in a heap. I got up first while those chumps were still on the ground and tossed the disc up and got congratulated by my teammates.

5. 2004 Nationals. Sub Zero vs. Furious. It was a heated game against Furious. When the score got into double digits we just kept trading. Todd threw a nice huck to Boardman to make it like 12-12. Furious scored then we got disc back on offense. The handlers worked it down to around midfield and then there was a stoppage. While a call was being discussed I remember a Furious guy from the sideline yelling at the guy guarding me to not let me get to this spot on the sideline. He was pointing at this specific spot and yelling. The disc got tapped in and I still beat that guy to the spot on the sideline. Timmy hit me in stride and the defender laid out but he was too late, the disc was already in my hands. So, I had no mark, saw Boardman going deep and went with an inverted backhand huck. It was a bit windy so that was a good choice of throw for me though its a bit unusual to see in a game. It was a good toss, right to Boardman in stride, he jumped up and skied his defender and landed in the endzone for the score. I was pumping my fists, it was real intense. I think that tied the score at 13-13, unfortunately we went on to lose 17-16. This play is also on Ultivillage's "Disc 1" highlights of UPA Club Nationals 2004.

MRI results

* I re-tore my ACL.

* The first thing I said when I got hurt at Nationals, when I was rolling around in pain. "Fuck, not again!" Sure enough it did happen again. Kinda sucks to wait for a month and a half before I offically found out. Next Wednesday is when I figure out my plans for surgery.

* Tear #1 was 12/27/04. Tear #2 was 10/27/05. 10 months. I will never play sports on the 27th of each month for the rest of my days.

MRI

* Had an MRI on my knee on Monday. Awaiting the results. Hoping for the decent news. Hurting your knee sucks for rizzeal.

* Just got tickets for 2 more T-Wolves games. Now I'm going on Friday and next Wednesday. That'll be games number 4 and 5 for me. Plus, I'm going to the Wolves vs Pistons next month. Last year I broke my record by going to 11 games. I'm on good pace to break that again this year. Having season tickets at work is the shizzle.

* Almost done with x-mas shopping. Should be able to get the rest done today or tomorrow. X-mas is the bomb dizzle.

Venting About My Knee

* I know a lot of you have heard me piss moaning about my knee, but its just getting out of hand. Most of you know I tore my ACL last December 2004. Surgery on Feb 14th 2005. 6 months of rehab and boredom. Back on the Ulti field in August. The knee felt really good and strong. I played in 4 tournaments from mid-Aug to mid-Oct with a practice 4 days a week during that time. Then come first game at Nationals I play about 4 points and on the 5th point that I'm in we turn it over. So I'm playing a little D and I try to footblock the guy I'm guarding. I plant my knee back down and it pops/cracks and I drop down in much pain. The pop/crack was identical to what it felt like when I originally tore the ACL. Needless to say I miss the rest of Nationals, I was in a lot of pain and the F-er just got real stiff. So about a week after that I go to the Doc and he says the ACL is fine and I might have a new cartilidge tear. Says to take it easy for a week and then try running on it. So, I do and it feels good. I start playing a little basketball and touch football. Since then I have had about 4 incidents where I plant my right leg and my knee pops/cracks. The first few times it felt a little uncomfortable but no pain and I just kept playing. Last night same thing, but this time some pain. It lasted for about 30 secs and then I felt decent and just finished the game. Afterwards it felt painful and now today is very stiff and sore. This sucks so bad. I'm going to see the Doc again on Monday now. All I can hope for is some sort of positive diagnosis from him.

* By the way, we lost last night 21-0. Yeah, got shutout. It was bad. The other team was really good though. They are now 4-0 and in first place. We are now 1-2. Oh and I didn't score a TD for the first time in 4 games (going back to last year). Actually I didn't even catch a single pass. The only thing I did was draw one pass interference call. Weak.

No Sports?

* Mandy says all I write about is sports. Is that a bad thing?

* Not only I'm I feeling myself getting fatter by eating all of these holiday treats, I think my teeth are starting to rot. We have tons of junk here at work, X-mas cookies at home and everywhere else I go there is some kinda treat. Luckily we're going to Ely this weekend where I'll eat even more snacks, treats and candy.

* I watched Raging Bull last night. De Niro and Scorsese have done a lot of movies together. But the trio of De Niro, Pesci, Scorsese have done three. That made me wonder which is the best of the De Niro, Pesci, Scorsese movies? Raging Bull, Goodfellas, Casino? To my knowledge Raging Bull won the most awards. But its tough to say which one is the best.

Touch Football League Update

* We are now 1-1. Today is a bye, sucky. Last week I scored 3 TDs and the last one was with no time left to win the game. The ball got tipped around on a hail mary and I dove and caught it about a foot off the ground.

* Basketball league starts in a month. I'm pumped.

* T-Wolves and Vikings are rolling right now. T-Wolves 11-6, first in the division. Tight.

* Got a flat tire this morning on the way to work. Froze my hands off putting on the spare. NowI get to spend my birthday money on new tires. I hate my car so much. It has given me some problems this year. I want to get something a little newer. The only nice thing about my car is its paid off. Everything else about it sucks.

* Yesterday was my birthday. I got some cool presents. Clothes, DVDs, a cd, Xbox game, gift cards and cash. I'd say I did pretty well. Now I get to buy myslef those new tires.

Sleeping in

* This Saturday I'm playing poker. AJ is hosting. I'm playing with a bunch of dudes who have this league going and they play once a month. I'm not in the league but they let none league players play. * Yesterday was our first two-hand touch football league game. Last year I only got to play in three games before I tore my stupid ACL, so I was pretty excited. Unfortunately we lost like 30-12. My highlight plays were "posting up" a short guy in the endzone and my QB just tossed it up in the air. I jumped up and caught it for our first score. I caught a couple other passes about 5 yards out and ran for another 20+ in both. Ben says that's hard to do since everyone plays zone, but a lot of the guys in this league seem slow. The ref robbed me of catching an extra point, said I was out of bounds, but everyone else said I was in. Even though we lost it was fun.

* We are painting our bedroom tomorrow. Yippy!!!! Wait. I hate painting, it sucks.

* Next week = short work week. Hells yeah.

Wow. Thanks for all the comments on the first post of my blog.

* How the hell did the Vikings win you ask? By setting an NFL record by scoring TDs on a INT return, a kick off return and a punt return. Thats insane. And yes, I hate Paul Edinger and he misses FGs a lot but at least he can make the game winners, the exact opposite of Gary Anderson. Remember that? Still sucks.

* First touch football game this Thursday at the U of M field house. Hopefully my knee will holdup. It will be nice to play of the field turf.

* T-Wolves 3-3. 3-0 at home, 0-3 on the road. Hopefully this trend doesn't last the whole season. McCants had filithy dunk last night on Marcus Camby, followed by some bone head taunting that got him ejected.

* Last weekend at the cabin we had a lot of fun. Erin and AJ joined us and we ate and drank all weekend. Beverages included: Beer, Wine, Bloody Mary's, Vodka Red Bulls, Vodka sours, Muddy Mud Slides, Colorado Bulldogs and Strawberry Daiquiris. Mandy and Erin didn't even leave the cabin from Friday night at 10ish until Sunday at like noon. Good stuff. We also watched 5 DVDs and played some games. I grilled steaks in the rain and they were tasty.

Welcome to my Blog.

I had to sign up for this blogger site to post on someone else's blog, so I decided to try my own. Who knows how long it will last??? Anyway...

* T-Wolves 3-2. Not bad after two loses on the road in OT. My current favorite T-Wolf is Anthony Carter. Man does he hussle. Did anyone see him SWAT away Smush Parker's shot as the shot clock expired? Sick.

* Ultimate Frisbee. We (Sub Zero) did awesome at Nationals a few weeks ago. Finished 6th after losing to Furious in the Quaterfinals by 1 goal. We were seeded 10th and its our best finish since 2001.

* Most recent movies. Mandy and I saw Jarhead last weekend. She liked it a lot, I thought it was OK. I need to watch it again though because there is some really good dialogue. I also watched Kingdom of Heaven. Nothing special. A sub-par film for Ridley Scott.

* Going to the cabin this weekend. Should be fun and relaxing.
