High Ho Silver

* Luckydog Alumni defeated Luckydog 21-17 last Saturday at the 5th annual SCSU Ultimate Alumni game. That gives the Alumni 3 wins in a row and puts the series at 3-2. Both sides had tons of turnovers including yours truly but our deep game was clicking a little better then Luckydog's did. We came out up 4-1 and Luckydog came within 2 goals a few times but the Alumni would usually come back with a few goals of their own. I was drained in the 2nd half in such a long game, oh yeah and we only had 1 sub on the alumni side.

* Friday night was High Ho Sliver night at DB's bar in St. Cloud. $7 cover then all drinks are a nickel. It was a crazy good time. "Gimme 6 vodka sours"..."That'll be 30 cents".

* Also on Saturday we got in a couple rounds of disc golf at Riverside DGC in Cloud. Course was setup at Champion length so it was tougher then normal but it was still fun. The 2nd round was Raeker and I vs. Erik and DK best disc round. We were up -2 to -1 through 9 holes. Erik and DK tied it, then had a chance to take the lead but they biffed a couple putts and Raeker and I took in on the last 2 holes.

* Yesterday I bought Dead Rising for Xbox 360, its sweet. You go around and kill zombies and stuff. I also Ace'd #9 Short tee at Bryant Lake yesterday. DK and I were doing an Ace Race and I hit one. It was tight.

* Last night DK, AJ and I went disc golfing at Bryant Lake. We played the short tees in hopes of hitting an Ace. We made a bunch nice runs at it but no one hit an Ace. AJ did ding some metal though on #7. Cool thing is DK got that shot on video. He missed the Ace by about an inch, just a tad too low. I made a nice run at it on the video, just a little short and a little right.

* Props to SZ for winning Regionals last weekend. They should get a decent seed for Nationals.

* T-Wolves first preseason game tonight. Wished it was on TV.

* Wild are off to a fast start, 3-0. Cool win last night in a shootout.

* Mandy and I are about to get into full on prepare for baby mode. We got some work to do in the house. Then buy stuff: crib, stroller, car seat etc...

Ultimate and Disc Golf

* This weekend is Regionals for Sub Zero. Back in Chicago this year and SZ has the #1 seed. Central Region gets 3 bids to Nationals so SZ should be a lock to go to Nationals. They've had an interesting year. They lost Timmy and Turtle mid-season do to non-Ultimate related issues. Shane and now possibly Q-Tip are missing most of the season for school events. It also sounded like 3-4 guys have had some nagging injuries. Lucky for SZ that they've had some rookies step up to fill some of those holes and the team has had a solid season at this point.

* I have played Ultimate back to back Sundays now in a TCUL fall league. Last week was my first real game of Ultimate in about 11 months. I picked up with a team that Nate is on and its been fun. We won both games 15-5 and I got some good run in. Nate and I hooked up on about 5 scores now, some on hucks. Luckydog to Luckydog connection rockin it.

* I've done about 15% of my Disc Golfing this year at the Hyland SSA course in Bloomington. Sadly we found out that the course is closed for the winter starting this Friday. Its a sucky feeling to think we can't disc there for the next 6 months. DK brought his camera last night and snapped some photos. He posted one on his new blog. Check it out on his Blog.

* I'm planning on play in the Minneapolis Open disc golf tournament in a few weeks, though I haven't signed up yet. This is a PDGA run tournament so it'd be my first tournament that is PDGA sanctioned. That doesn't really mean much to me expect that its probably more organized then the leagues I've done this past summer. It should be a fun experience.
